This region of wild and romantic scenery has a total of 930 miles of coastline and is ideal for a beach holiday or a rural break inland. It consists of 4 departments Cotes-d'Armor, Finistere, Ille-et-Vilaine & Morbihan.
At Britanny's western tip, the Pointe du Raz raises sheer above the sea. At Vitre the medieval fortifications protect the way into Brittany, the Mont Dol has windmills, Rotheneuf hand-carved rocks. Not to mention Saint Malo's impressive harbour, the impressive town of Vannes in Morbihan, Locronan famed for its carvings and Carnac for its open-air prehistoric museum.
With an airport in Dinard and Brest, plus ferries to Roscoff and St Malo, Brittany is a short stop from Britain making it ideal for weekend breaks as well as longer holiday. It also has 2,300 miles of bridleways, 50 towns of unusual character or artistic interest, 1,860 miles of ramblers' footpaths, 370 miles of waterways and 31 golf courses!
