This charming 3 bedroom house, with typical Mediterranean garden, comfortably sleeps 6 people with 3 large rooms, and can also sleep 2 more on two sofa beds in the lounge. It offers accommodation in one of the most popular and sunny regions of France. Montreal is a vibrant village with all amenties within walking distance and is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Carcassonne Airport, where RyanAir flies into from various European destinations. It is located in the "Malepere" region, known as the Tuscany of South-West France, with its rolling hills, vineyards and sunflowers that bloom in late summer.
The lounge is large and airy, with original wooden beams and a very efficient wood burning stove (for the winter months) - with 2 sofa beds which can be used for extra sleeping arrangements. There is also a TV, piano, and plenty of books to read. The lounge leads into a fully fitted modernised kitchen with dishwasher, oven, vitroceramic surface, American fridge and washing machine, plenty of crockery, dishes and kitchen utensils, as well as small table for quick snacks. The separate dining room with original mosaic tiles has French doors opening out onto the terrace and garden, with dining table, chairs and dresser containing all dishes, glasses and so on. There is also a downstairs toilet and sink.
Upstairs, two spacious twin bedrooms with single beds, clothes cupboards and drawers in each room, as well as bed side tables with lamps. On the top floor, is the large and attractive master bedroom with superb views of the Pyrenees, with double bed, bedside table drawers and side lamps, as well as the modernised bathroom - with double sinks, toilet and corner/circular bath with shower head, with built in seat appealing to children.
Outside there is a good sized typical mediterranean garden SE facing, home to 2 olive trees, fig bushes, scented herbs, as well as large tiled terrace and wooden garden shed. The edges of the garden are fenced off, so that if you have little children, they cannot escape! A children's paddling pool can be supplied if required. On the terrace, there is a highly efficient gas-run barbeque for all your cooking needs.
This house is available all year round from one week up to several months. Please ask for winter ratex. Bedlinen/towels available at 15 euros per person.

This comfortable accommodation is in a pleasant and comfortable villa besides the Midi canal. The property has a fantastic unbroken view of the medieval city of Carcassonne and you can admire the view through the large windows in the dining room.There is an open-air market, restaurants, tourist office and railway station within 1km and the airport is within 8kms so ideal for a weekend break as well as a longer holiday.
All on one floor there is a hall with a separate kitchen with oven, microwave and dishwasher. The Living/dining room has a Plasma TV, DVD player, sterio and fireplace. There is also a balcony. There is a double bedroom with another TV and DVD player as well as 2 twin rooms (the beds can be attached to make into doubles). The bathroom has a bath, shower and 2 sinks plus there is a separate wc and a storage room with the washing machine. Outside there is a pleasant fenced garden with some shade as well as garden furniture and BBQ.
The owner lives at the house with the apartment above. It is possible to rent linen and bath towels. Gas is included in the price and cleaning is 45 euros.

This new wooden chalet (25m ²) for 2 people is on a hill in a wooded area with shared pool and is ideal for a couple on a tighter budget. The chalet is located in a beautiful area between the mountains near Carcassonne and the Pyrenees and is 20m from another chalet with whom you share the pool.
Accommodation consists of an open planned living/dining room with a sofa and satellite TV and broadband internet. There is a fully equipped open kitchen. The Bedroom has a double bed and the spa shower room has basin, toilet and shower. Outside there is a covered small terrace (12m²) to sit out for a drink or just take in the fantastic views. The pool is shared.
Nearby are several lakes where you can picnic or windsurfing (Bassin du Lampy). The region is famous for its Cathar castles and forts so lots to see and the walled city of Carcassonne is really special and a must for lovers of historic cities. For those who like walking there is a range of footpaths from the house. Also it is possible to drive to the Mediterranean Sea. The nearest airport is Carcassonne which is within 18 km. Heating is extra except High Season.

This gite is part of a small complex (10 holiday houses) in the grounds of a chateau. It has lots of charm and good facilities with a swimming pool (12 x 6m) and tennis court on site. The chateau is well positioned in a small town with restaurants and shops plus only 7kms from Narbonne. You are close to the coast and beaches, the medieaval town of Carcasonne, 'Canal du Midi' and much more.
Accommodation is on the ground floor and consists of a living room with open planned well equipped kitchen, a double bedroom and one twin room with a bathroom (bath, shower and sink) plus a wc. The property has electric heating and each terraced gite has their own terrace and a private garden although the grounds are, of course, shared. There is a golf course within 30kms and the coast within 15kms. Bed linen is included in the price but not bath towels which can be rented for 7 euros p.p. Cleaning is 40 euros.

Lodela is an old commercial barge used in Belgium and in the North of France from the 1930s. Completely restored in 2005, today the barge is an unusual and original form of accommodation nicely decorated. It provides a remarkable level of comfort in an extremely pleasant setting. Close to the barge there is a small lock, typical of the Midi canal, which allows you to find out about the operation of the canal and its history (listed as a World Heritage site). The region offers a huge number of things to see and do: Carcassonne and its famous Medieval City with two monuments listed by Unesco as World Heritage sites; the Cathar Chateaux: the giant Cabrespine chasm; numerous abbeys including Fontfroide abbey and lots of wine cellars! The nearest municipal swimming pool is within 5kms as is Carcassone with a wide range of restaurants, shops plus an airport so ideal for a short or long break.
Accommodation consists of a comfortable sitting room with TV, fireplace, DVD, HiFi plus table and chairs. The kitchen has an oven, microwave and fridge/freezer with a large dining table and chairs for up to 6 people. There is a double bedroom with shower and sink and 2 bedrooms with pull out double beds. The bathroom has a shower, sink and wc. The barge has air conditioning and outside there is an attractive shady terrace on the deck with attractive views of the canal plus a small garden on the bank reserved for guests. There is also garden furniture. There are 4 bicycles available for guests. Smoking is not allowed.
For obvious safety reasons, hiring the barge is not recommended for families with children under 7 years of age or if children cannot swim.

This detached house (117m2) with shared swimming pool is in a small hamlet 58kms west of Carcassonne and is on 2 hectares of land with the owners house and another smaller holiday house giving lots of space. The property is surrounded by sunflower and corn fields and was completely renoved in 2004. In the area there are lots of activities including swimming in Lac de la Ganguise which is 8kms away or 10 minutes by car. Carcasson is 60kms, Toulouse 61kms, Foix 45kms and lots of castles and caves to visit. For children there is also the 'Parc Australien' which is a theme park all about Australia!
The accommodation has a living room with TV, VCR and CD and a comfortable sofa and settee. The large open planned country style kitchen/dining room has a fireplace and dining table and chairs at one end and oven, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, etc at the other end. Finally there is a bathroom with shower unit in the bath and washing machine downstairs. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms and one large room with twin beds and bunk beds.
