This small gite is situated in Cher’s second largest town, St Amand-Montrond. It has a twin bedroom and a double sofabed in the living area and there is also a mezzanine area upstairs as a quiet area for relaxing. It has a shower room and a fully fitted kitchen (electric hob, microwave, oven, and washing machine). There is also a CD/radio, French TV and DVD and a number of books and games to entertain you in your quieter moments.
Outside, there is a small, private garden, with lovely shaded areas and a large sunny terrace with gas barbeque. It is situated next to the ruins of the Forteresse de Montrond, with only a short 10-minute walk into the town where all the usual shops, bars and restaurants can be found and a reasonable walk in the other direction to the mainline station with direct train links to Paris. The nearest swimming pool is 2kms away, bording the canal through the town.

Situated in the southern part of Cher in central France this large gite with shared pool is approximately 50 kms south of Bourges near the borders of Allier and Indre. It is surrounded by countryside, approximately 2.5 kms from the nearest village (St-Pierre-les-Bois), which has a very good, small café/restaurant. The nearest town of Le Châtelet (5 kms) has all the usual services, including restaurants, pharmacy, grocers, doctor and dentist.
The large, fully-equipped kitchen has exposed beams and stone walls, as well as all the mod-cons. It is equipped with a range-style, wood-burning cooker, separate gas cooker, dishwasher, washing-machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, solid oak dining table, and solid ash work-surfaces. The rear door from the kitchen leads out onto the private dining terrace (including gas barbeque) and garden. Across the hallway is an equally large, comfortable lounge with wood-burning insert fire and corner games-table and chairs. It has a supply of books and games for when you just need to unwind. There is comfortable seating for all. Upstairs there is one double and three twin bedrooms, a bath/shower-room and a shower-room There is a further WC downstairs off the hall. The solid wood staircase has child security gates top and bottom and this house also has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout, and a fire blanket in the kitchen. Extra warmth for the cooler months is provided by electric wall heaters throughout the gîte. Hot water is supplied by two gas combination boilers, so plentiful hot water at all times. Outside there is a shared mature garden (with Le petit Champiau) which also boasts a swimming-pool (security fenced) and outdoor hot tub (with lid), and views over the adjoining fields. This gite can be let with Le Petit Champiau (property ref 1299) making the property suitable for up to 12 as there is a connecting door which is bolted if not booked together.
