Another choice for Wine connoisseurs. Chateau Pierrail is a splendid example of one of the many wine making chateaux in this area. It was built in the 17thc on the foundations of a mediaeval castle and is set in a 200 hectare estate. The NW wing og the Chateau has been tastefully restored and converted into two self-contained apartments. These properties also have access to a secluded swimming pool and guests can also use the family tennis court and fish in the lake.
From the central courtyard steps lead up to the main entrance. A large combined dining room/kitchen area occupies the ground floor. French doors open to a separate terrace in front of the Chateau. An elm staircase winds to the west tower and the elegant 'salon'. There is also a double ensuite; single with 'lit bateau' and basin and comfortable twin bedroom. NB: The 'salon' is furnished with antiques and works of art which have been in the Chateau for many years so is not suitable for young children.
Chateau Pierrail's winery has won gold and silver awards. The wine connoisseur will appreciate both the supple, full bodied red wine and the elegant white wine which the charming French owners will be delighted to make guests acquainted with.

This charming, renovated old pigeon-house has lots of character and is situated in the midst of the beautiful vineyards in the valley of the Garonne river. It has a shared swimming pool and tennis court with the owner and is ideal for wine 'buffs'. The house is surrounded by the vineyards that make the best Bordeaux wines (Sauternes, Ste Croix du Mont, Loupiac) and several chateauxes that you can visit (Château d'Yquem, Château de Labrède, Château de Cazeneuveand les Châteaux Clémentins). You can also visit the owners wine cellars and of course taste his wines.
Accommodation consists of a living room with TV and Hi Fi and a kitchen in the corner with dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. There is also a toilet. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with separate bathroom (shower and sink). This is a triple room: a lit Gigogne (a single bed which can be made into 2 beds side by side) and on the mezzaninine a sofa bed plus a comfortable mattress. There is also a double room. The house has electric heating making it suitable for out of season as well as the summer.
Outside the gite has its own terrace and garden with garden furniture and barbeque. The owner's house is 200m away and there is joint use of the pool and the tennis court with them. There is also table tennis and boules.
