Le Reposoir is very much a second home so is consequently furnished to a very high standard and contains most of the facilities and gadgetry which you would expect to find at home in England.
On the ground floor the accommodation comprises square entrance hall; large L-shaped lounge/dining room with two pairs of French windows, beamed ceiling and open log fire; dining kitchen; bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin and bidet, and separate W.C.
Upstairs there are 3 large bedrooms ( 2 double and one twin); bathroom with corner bath, shower, bidet and W.C. and a long landing. Equipment in the house includes full-size electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble-dryer, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. There is also a colour T.V. and a music centre with tapes and C.D's, plus jigsaws, books and games. The large garden has garden furniture comprising table, chairs and umbrella and there is a barbecue
area.
Calvados and the surround area are steeped in history. The Normandy Landing Beaches, particularly the Mulberry harbour at Arromanches and the American Military Cemetery at Omaha Beach are a "must" to all those interested in the Second World War. They are also magnificent beaches (45 mins away) - perfect for swimming and leisure pursuits. From another age, the Bayeux Tapestry is very interesting and beautifully presented. If you enjoy beautiful scenery, then the entire region is for you. There is also a mass of gastronomic delights in the region - Calvados, Pommeau, Camembert, Brie, Livarot and Pont L'Eveque are manufactured locally and the seafood is wonderful and safe. Oysters, cockles, mussels, clams, whelks, crab, lobster etc. are all caught off the coast and are always fresh and cheap. There are many local restaurants to choose from, all excellent value.

Surrounded by a castle and a park-like terrain of 70 hectares, these historic Normandic cottages have a view over the 'Vallée de la Calonne'. They are situated at the beginning of the 'Pays d'Auge' with the beach of Deauville 30 kms away and the invasion-beaches of Caen are an hour's drive. This beautiful estate is perfectly suited for peace-seekers and lovers of country life in a region where there are plenty of things to do: the 'Circuit des haras' (horse farms), the Abbey circuit, castles of the Middle Ages (Gaillard and Harcourt) and the Renaissance (Beaumesnil, Champ de Bataille), the Seine valley, painting (Honfleur, Giverny), the Normandic coast (with Deauville and Trouville), museums, churches...and on top of all that the excellent culinary tradition!
Other cottages are available if families wish to holiday together.
The accommodation consists of two well equipped kitchens, each with oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There are two living rooms one with a double sofabed TV, chairs and dining area, the other with a single bed. There is an interconnecting bedroom with a single bed and also two toilets on this floor. Upstairs you will find four bedrooms, a double with ensuite (shower, sink and toilet), a twin with ensuite (shower, sink and toilet), a further double bedroom and the fourth bedroom has a bunk bed. The bathroom on this floor has a bath, sink and toilet.
The property has central heating, a terrace with garden furniture and BBQ, shared tennis court, bowling alley and a play area. A high chair is also supplied. Electricity is included in the price, at certain times of the year there is a small charge for gas. Bath towels and bed linen can be hired, a deposit of 300 euros is requested on arrival.

The cottage has been completely renovated, is extremely comfortable and is close to a number of activities (walks, bike rides, golf, etc.).
The location is ideal for exploring Pays d'Auge, Côte Fleurie and its beaches, Lisieux is 20 minutes away and Deauville less than an hour. Honfleur and its fishing port, and Caen and its historic centre, are also destinations close by that are well worth a visit.
